Centennial College

Centennial College in Toronto was founded in 1966 as the first public college in Ontario. It teaches engineering technology, transportation, health and business across several campuses in the east of the city. Its technical side matters more here than its business teaching, because of where the work permit line now falls. Since November 2024 college diploma graduates face a field-of-study screen, and the fields that remain eligible are agriculture and agri-food, healthcare, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, trade, and transport. Centennial teaches substantially in several of those. That makes the institution's engineering and transportation provision a materially safer choice than its business provision at diploma level — a distinction that did not exist two years ago.
