Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières

Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières is a French-language university midway between Montreal and Quebec City, founded 1969 as part of the Université du Québec network. It is known for chiropractic, podiatry, hydrogen research and paper science, an unusual combination reflecting both regional industry and specific national mandates. Its hydrogen research institute is among the more substantial in Canada. For a Kazakh applicant the proposition is regional Quebec: materially lower living costs than Montreal, smaller classes, closer faculty contact, and a town where French is required for daily life rather than merely for study. That last point cuts both ways and should be weighed honestly before applying.
