York University

York University in Toronto is one of Canada's largest universities and hosts the Schulich School of Business, among the most respected business schools in the country. Its practical position for a Kazakh applicant is that it offers Toronto without Toronto's most competitive entry standards. The University of Toronto is the most applied-to Canadian institution among Kazakh students and is reported to set cutoffs above 90 per cent for competitive programmes; York is materially more accessible while sitting in the same city with the same graduate employment market. It has a large international cohort, which means established support structures and an admissions office that assesses unfamiliar qualifications routinely rather than as an exception. Schulich is the exception to the accessibility point and is considerably more competitive than the university generally. Toronto living costs apply regardless of which institution a student attends, and they are among the highest in Canada.
