China University of Mining and Technology

China University of Mining and Technology was founded in 1909 as the Jiaozuo Road Mining Institute and is China's oldest and leading institution for mining, energy and safety engineering, part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Initiative. For a Kazakh applicant this is among the most directly relevant universities in the whole Chinese catalogue. Kazakhstan's economy runs on extraction, and mining, mine safety, mineral processing and geological engineering are the disciplines this university exists to teach. The published costs are unusually low and unusually clear. Tuition is CNY 14,600 a year for science and engineering and CNY 13,800 for arts, the application fee is CNY 400, twin-room accommodation is CNY 3,000 a year and insurance CNY 690. The Class A scholarship covers tuition in full for bachelor's applicants at 80 out of 100 or a GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0. That threshold is published, which is rare.
