Dalian University of Technology

Dalian University of Technology was founded in 1949 and is a Project 985 institution, strongest in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil and hydraulic engineering, shipbuilding and marine engineering, and materials science. Chemical engineering is its outstanding field and among the strongest provision in China. For a Kazakh applicant that connects to the petrochemical, refining and processing industries at home, which are substantial technical employers and increasingly involve Chinese investment, equipment and engineering practice. Shipbuilding and marine engineering are further strengths but transfer less directly to a landlocked country, though the Caspian has offshore activity. Dalian sits on the coast in Liaoning with a milder winter than the inland northeast, a substantial port, and living costs well below the first-tier cities.
