Nanjing University of Science and Technology

Nanjing University of Science and Technology was founded in 1953 as the Artillery Engineering Department of the People's Liberation Army Military Engineering Institute. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Jiangsu provincial government, within Project 211 and the Double First-Class Initiative. That defence origin is the first thing to establish. Ordnance science and armaments research remain among the university's designated strengths, and it is a field where access to specific laboratories, projects or research areas is sometimes restricted to Chinese nationals. Whether any part of the intended programme is affected should be confirmed directly, since a restriction discovered in the third year is not recoverable. Beyond that heritage the university teaches mechanical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, computing, electronics and economics, with around 16,159 undergraduates.
