Aberdeen is in Scotland, so its standard undergraduate degree runs four years rather than three. That is a third more in total tuition than an English university charging the same annual fee, plus a fourth year of living costs and additional Immigration Health Surcharge. Aberdeen states its Kazakh position simply. Attestat holders are routed to the Aberdeen International Study Centre: 'Students who complete Atestat (Certificate of Secondary Education) need to apply to our Foundation Programme.' For others: 'Students who follow an international curriculum (A-levels, IB, SAT/AP) can be considered for direct entry into first year.' Aberdeen names SAT and AP among the accepted international curricula, which few UK universities do. Cambridge accepts five APs at score 5 alongside a perfect attestat, and Loughborough refers applicants to its USA requirements. For a Kazakh student who has taken SATs or APs, perhaps while considering US applications, Aberdeen offers a route that most UK universities do not. Aberdeen's Kazakhstan page does not mention the NIS Grade 12 Certificate. Its position on that certificate is worth establishing directly, since comparable universities do recognise it.
