Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Chinese University of Hong Kong was founded in 1963 and teaches through a collegiate system, with every student belonging to a constituent college alongside their academic faculty. Several colleges are fully residential with communal dining. It publishes its costs and its accommodation position more clearly than most universities anywhere, and two things follow. Non-local tuition is 214,000 Hong Kong dollars for 2026-27, and the university states that any yearly adjustment for the 2026 cohort will be capped at 3%. That ceiling is unusual and genuinely protective: Hong Kong fees are not otherwise capped and non-local rates across the sector have risen at roughly 7.7% a year. Accommodation is guaranteed under an N minus 2 policy — a college hostel place for the normative study period minus two years. For a student arriving alone in one of the world's most expensive housing markets, two guaranteed years out of four is worth more than it sounds. Kazakhstan is one of six designated countries for the Belt and Road Scholarship, which covers full tuition and is awarded by nomination.
