Bard College

Bard is a liberal arts college on a thousand-acre campus at Annandale-on-Hudson in New York, part of a global network including Bard Berlin, high school early colleges and the Bard Prison Initiative. Three things distinguish it for a Kazakh applicant. There is no application fee on any of its three routes. Bard has been test-optional for over fifty years, longer than almost any other US college. And it offers the Bard Entrance Examination as a complete alternative to the conventional application: a set of essays where a grade of B+ or better secures admission, which suits an applicant whose transcript does not travel well or who cannot readily obtain documents. On aid, Bard requires international applicants to complete its own Bard International Student Financial Aid Application rather than the CSS Profile, and states it meets full demonstrated need for all early round admitted students.
