Kent State is a public research university in Kent, Ohio. Its international funding is automatic, universal among admitted undergraduates and modest in size: the Global Scholarship 'is available to all incoming international undergraduate degree-seeking students who have been admitted to Kent State', providing USD 4,300 a year — USD 2,000 per semester — and reducing the cost of a four-year degree by up to USD 16,000. Students are considered automatically on admission with no application. Kent State is candid that this is partial: 'Please note that our international undergraduate and graduate scholarships are partial scholarships and do not cover full tuition, fees, and living expenses.' Its English bar is low — TOEFL 71 or an SAT of 510 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing — with conditional admission available through its own ESL Center for applicants who meet the academic requirements but not the language ones.
