Lake Forest College

Lake Forest is a liberal arts college thirty miles north of Chicago, and its international funding is both generous and unusually predictable. A new student entering in 2026-2027 may receive up to USD 48,000 in combined scholarship and grant funds, with Lake Forest stating that a student can expect a similar amount each year and that no annual application is required. Need-based consideration runs through the CSS Profile, which is required of all non-US citizens seeking it — a route genuinely open to a Kazakh applicant. Work-study of up to USD 3,500 may be added, though job placement is not guaranteed. Applicants who apply test-optional must complete an interview used partly to assess English. Lake Forest is currently accepting applications for both Spring 2027 and Fall 2027.
