Nebraska–Lincoln is a public land-grant research university offering more than 100 majors, and it makes a claim worth checking: 'With the lowest tuition in the Big Ten, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is a top choice for international students.' Its international funding is banded, automatic and among the clearest published anywhere: Global Laureate at USD 15,000 a year, Global Ambassador at USD 10,000 and Global Delegate at USD 4,000, each toward international tuition and each running up to four years, so the Ambassador award alone totals up to USD 40,000. All international admits are evaluated for the Global Scholarships on admission, through what Nebraska calls a 'masked confidential holistic review process'. The catch is a firm one: the enrolment deposit must be paid by 1 May for fall entry.
