Algonquin College

Algonquin College in Ottawa was founded in 1967 and teaches information technology, business, health, media and skilled trades. Its position in the national capital is the practical argument. Ottawa hosts the federal government and a substantial technology sector, which concentrates placement and graduate employment in information technology specifically. Information technology sits within the fields reported to remain work permit eligible at diploma level. Business does not. For an applicant drawn to Algonquin, that makes the technology side the materially safer route, and the difference is not one of teaching quality. One naming point belongs on the front of any search. Algonquin College is public; Algonquin Careers Academy is a private career college with a similar name, and private career colleges are largely ineligible for work permit purposes.
