Approximately 15,700 students enrolled in credit programmes…
As of 2023, alongside 7,009 registered apprentices and 12,100 in non-credit courses, per publicly compiled figures. An admissions compilation gives 22,180, which appears to combine categories and has not been adopted. NAIT states it has students from 84 or more countries; a compilation reports over 1,700 international students from 91 countries. The country figures conflict and neither has been adopted, so the institute's own international pages are the source to use.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton was founded in 1962 and offers more than 120 credit programmes leading to certificates, diplomas and applied degrees. NAIT reports that 86 per cent of full-time programme graduates find employment within nine months of graduating, a figure appearing consistently across sources citing the institute. One compilation instead reports 90 per cent and an average graduate salary; that conflict is recorded rather than resolved. Either way the point holds. A polytechnic qualification is designed for employment rather than research, and NAIT publishes outcome data that most institutions do not, which is itself worth something to a family trying to compare. It offers applied bachelor's degrees alongside diplomas, and under the November 2024 rules that distinction now decides whether a qualification carries a work permit field-of-study restriction.
