Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario was founded in 1967, and its Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design is described as Canada's largest art school. The animation programme is its best-known offering and the evidence for it is concrete rather than reputational. Five Sheridan alumni were among the nominees for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, and the college reports topping Canadian animation rankings for eight consecutive years. Two structural features matter for a Kazakh applicant. The Bachelor of Animation is a degree rather than a diploma, so it carries no work permit field-of-study restriction under the November 2024 rules. And after the third year students undertake a three-month work placement. At the annual Industry Day, employers travel from across North America to meet students, review their work and conduct interviews. For a graduate arriving without North American professional networks, that access is worth more than it appears.
