The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established in 2014 by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in partnership with Shenzhen University. It teaches primarily in English and awards a Chinese University of Hong Kong degree. That degree is the point. A Chinese University of Hong Kong award carries recognition internationally that a mainland Chinese degree may not, and the Hong Kong parent is among the highest-ranked universities in Asia. It is reported to be among the most generous scholarship providers for international students of any cooperative university, which given tuition of around CNY 105,000 a year matters more than it would at a Chinese public institution. Shenzhen is among the most expensive Chinese cities, so the total sits at the upper end even before the joint-venture premium.
