Shaanxi Normal University

Shaanxi Normal University was founded in 1944 and is among China's principal teacher education institutions, directly administered by the Ministry of Education and part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Initiative. It is unusually large once continuing and distance education are counted. Its own Chinese-language profile gives more than 19,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 12,200 postgraduates, with a substantial further population in continuing and distance education. Its strengths in Chinese literature, history and education reflect Xi'an's position as a historic imperial capital, and its Chinese language teaching provision is substantial, which matters for an applicant who needs to build the language before studying in it. A student intending to teach should establish what a Chinese education degree qualifies them for in Kazakhstan. Teacher registration is nationally regulated, and a qualification that does not lead to registration is worth considerably less than it appears.
