South China University of Technology

South China University of Technology was founded in 1952 from the engineering departments of several southern Chinese universities and is among the country's leading technical institutions, part of Project 985 and Project 211. It is strongest in materials science, chemical engineering, light industry and food science, architecture and civil engineering, and business. The light industry and food science provision in particular is among the strongest in China and is less commonly taught to that standard elsewhere. The university runs a Global Summer Engineering Program taught in English across biomedicine and advanced soft materials, artificial intelligence and high-end manufacturing, and chemistry and chemical engineering. That indicates English-medium teaching capacity, and whether degree programmes are available in English should be confirmed. It teaches across several Guangzhou campuses including a newer international campus, and the campus should be established before applying.
