Southern University of Science and Technology

The Southern University of Science and Technology was established in Shenzhen in 2010 and is owned and funded by the Shenzhen municipal government. It was founded deliberately as an experiment in Chinese higher education reform, and its research standing has risen quickly for an institution of its age. Its international undergraduate presence appears very small. One compilation reports around 24 international students against roughly 5,420 domestic. That figure is unconfirmed and may be out of date, but every source describes a very small cohort. That is the first thing a Kazakh applicant should establish, ahead of grades or fees. Whether the university admits international undergraduates at all, through what route and with what support, should be confirmed directly rather than assumed. Shenzhen is among the most expensive Chinese cities and one of the most dynamic, adjacent to Hong Kong and the centre of Chinese technology manufacturing.
