Cardiff Metropolitan University

The name is the first thing to get right. Cardiff Metropolitan University is a different institution from Cardiff University, the research university in the same city. They differ substantially in entry requirements, fees and standing, and correspondence sent to one will not reach the other. Two things make Cardiff Metropolitan more reachable than most British universities for an applicant from Kazakhstan. It is reported to accept the SAT and ACT for undergraduate entry, at around 1100 and 23 respectively. Very few British universities do. For a student who prepared for American applications, that preparation transfers directly and no separate British qualification is needed. And it is reported to admit at more than one point in the year, on a semester calendar. Visa processing, document translation and the 28-day funds rule routinely push a first application past September; a mid-year intake turns a lost year into a lost term. Both should be confirmed for the specific course before a plan is built on them.
