Middlesex University

Middlesex University is a public university in north London, with its main campus at Hendon and further campuses in Dubai, Mauritius and Malta. The overseas campuses deserve serious consideration from a cost-constrained Kazakh family, because studying a Middlesex degree in Dubai avoids UK living costs, the Student visa, the Immigration Health Surcharge and the requirement to evidence GBP 13,761 in maintenance funds. Dubai is also far better connected to Kazakhstan by air than London is. One thing decides whether that route is equivalent, and it is not fees. The UK Graduate Route gives 18 months of post-study work to those applying from 1 January 2027, and it requires study in the UK. A student who completes a Middlesex degree entirely in Dubai holds a UK degree without UK post-study work rights. Heriot-Watt raises the same question with its Dubai and Malaysia campuses. Middlesex teaches business, computing, health, law, media and the performing arts.
