Ulster is a research university in Northern Ireland teaching at Belfast, Coleraine, Magee in Derry, and in London. The London campus is the first thing to settle, because it changes the visa arithmetic by GBP 3,222 a year and the real cost of living by considerably more. Belfast is among the cheapest cities in Britain to study in; London is the most expensive. Northern Ireland otherwise works exactly like England for an applicant from Kazakhstan: three-year degrees, the same visa, the same health surcharge, and the lower maintenance rate that applies outside London. The natural comparison is Queen's University Belfast, in the same city, which publishes what Ulster does not — a Kazakhstan page setting out the attestat at an average of 4 plus either a recognised foundation programme or one completed year of a Bakalavr, the Nazarbayev certificate for direct entry, and an automatic first-year award. Two universities in one city, and only one of them has published its terms.
