University of Dundee

Dundee is a research university on the east coast of Scotland, known for medicine, dentistry, life sciences and law — and, distinctively, for art and design through Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, which is part of the university. That art school is the reason many international students look at Dundee. It is among the stronger British art schools, and being inside a research university rather than standing alone means an art education with a university's range around it. Admission to art and design normally rests on a portfolio rather than on grades, which changes both the application and its timetable. Medicine and dentistry sit at the other end of the same institution, under the earlier October deadline and requiring the UCAT.
