ASU is a large public research university at Tempe, Arizona. Its international award is automatic and substantial, but carries one exclusion a Kazakh applicant must check first. The US State Department's EducationUSA listing states: 'Arizona State University offers merit based scholarship up to USD 14,500 to outstanding incoming international students. Students are considered for this award when they are admitted to ASU. No separate application is required, but all international admission application materials... should be received by the ASU Undergraduate Admissions Office by the April 1 scholarship priority date. Eligibility factors include highly competitive GPA and test scores. Students eligible for this award must be on F-1 visas. Sponsored students are not eligible.'
