ArtCenter College of Design

ArtCenter is a private art and design college at Pasadena, California. Its scholarship structure has two features a Kazakh applicant must understand before applying. First, ArtCenter is unusually candid that awards are scarce: 'We believe that all admitted students are deserving; however, as funding is limited, the scholarship awards cannot be offered to all students and are a symbol of the highest merit.' Second, and unusually, a student who receives nothing at entry is not shut out permanently: 'Students who did not receive scholarship on entry or would like to apply for an additional amount may apply through the continuing scholarship review process. This process currently takes place each term for undergraduate students.' A separate scholarship portfolio review governs the award. Awards are pro-rated below full-time enrolment and are not paid at all below six units.
