Boise State University

Boise State is a public research university in Idaho's capital. Its scholarship structure is unusually transparent and, importantly, stackable: international awards are 'made up of a combination of non-resident scholarships–Ridgeline and Summit scholarships–available to all Boise State applicants and Global scholarships open only to international students.' First-year applicants can be considered for a Ridgeline Scholarship at USD 5,000 a year, a Summit Scholarship at USD 10,000, and a Global Scholarship at USD 5,000 to USD 7,000. Boise State draws a clear distinction in reliability: 'Non-resident scholarships are guaranteed to students who meet the eligibility criteria and deadlines. Global scholarships are subject to availability.' The academic threshold is an unweighted 3.100 grade average as calculated by Boise State or a NACES evaluator.
