Earlham College

Earlham is a Quaker liberal arts college in Richmond, Indiana, with an unusually international student body — secondary sources report over 21% of students coming from 54 countries. Its distinguishing feature for a Kazakh family is that it publishes an explicit contribution floor: 'International students (non-UWC) and families need to be able to contribute at least USD 25,000 a year for the first year and then that amount plus yearly increases in cost of attendance.' Few universities publish an expected contribution at all, and fewer still say it escalates. Merit scholarships range up to USD 37,000 for up to eight semesters. Earlham states plainly that it does not award scholarships or grants for housing, food or other indirect costs.
