Miami University is a public research university in Oxford, Ohio, established 1809, with roughly 16,400 undergraduates and a reported 82% acceptance rate. Two features make it unusually approachable for a Kazakh applicant. Its own International Application requires no essay, and the USD 70 application fee can be waived outright: 'Select "Miami Fee Waiver" on the undergraduate application to waive our USD 70 application fee when you apply by April 1.' Merit consideration is automatic and the academic threshold is low: 'All new first-year international undergraduate students with a U.S. equivalent GPA of 2.50 or higher who meet admission requirements are automatically considered for the International Merit Scholarship.' Priority goes to applications submitted by 1 December. Miami does not require ACT or SAT for first-year admission, but from Fall 2027 scores become mandatory for its Honors College and Presidential Fellows awards.
