St. Olaf College

St. Olaf is a Lutheran liberal arts college in Northfield, Minnesota, about 40 miles from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, with roughly 300 international students, around 60% of whom attended a United World College. Its aid model is unusually well documented, and it publishes the residual gap rather than hiding it. Scholarships for international students ranged from USD 5,000 to USD 77,000. Non-UWC international students can receive up to 100% of tuition through institutional need-based grants plus merit scholarships, but St. Olaf states plainly that this 'would leave some work study and loan funds available to cover room and board — but they will not cover all of those costs. There would be somewhere around USD 12,000 to USD 15,000 in costs for room and board that are not covered by any sort of financial aid.' A UWC graduate can receive up to 100% of the full comprehensive fee.
