University at Albany

UAlbany is a public research university and one of four SUNY university centres, with more than 1,200 international students from roughly 80 countries across 50-plus undergraduate majors. It is one of the few universities to publish a complete international cost of attendance on its own site: USD 53,662 a year for international students living on campus, covering tuition, fees, housing and meals, and USD 44,316 for those living off campus. UAlbany notes off-campus living requires junior or senior class standing, so a first-year Kazakh student pays the higher figure. Its Global Excellence Scholarships are awarded to incoming international students with no separate application, renewable on a 3.0 grade average. Applicants who fall short on English are actively encouraged to apply for conditional admission through the Intensive English Language Program.
