Wheaton College

Wheaton is a Christian liberal arts college in Wheaton, Illinois, roughly 40 kilometres west of Chicago, with an attached Conservatory of Music. A Kazakh applicant should establish one thing before investing time. Wheaton is an explicitly evangelical institution and its community life is governed by a Christian Community Covenant that students are expected to affirm. That is an eligibility and fit consideration, comparable to Simmons University's women-centred admission, and it should be checked directly rather than assumed either way. On money Wheaton is unusually candid: it states it cannot offer full-ride or full-tuition scholarships to international students, that merit awards run USD 8,000-24,000 and need-based international grants USD 5,000-15,000, and that 'there is an expectation for the student and family to be able to afford a significant portion of their Wheaton College education up to the full cost'. Aid, once awarded, is held constant for up to four years.
