Xavier is a Jesuit university in Cincinnati offering around 90 undergraduate majors, and its funding position is unusually transparent. Xavier states a cost of attendance of USD 69,760 for 2026-27, and then states plainly that every student receives a merit scholarship of USD 23,000 to USD 33,000 on admission, with 100% of full-time traditional undergraduates receiving institutional aid. That is a guaranteed floor rather than a competition, and it means the realistic starting cost is closer to USD 37,000-47,000. Xavier also awards additional institutional aid for specific actions — USD 1,000 for visiting campus, USD 500 for filing the FAFSA — and publishes a second, lower TOEFL threshold at which an applicant is admitted with English course requirements rather than refused. Early Action applicants receive both admission and merit decisions by mid-December.
