Humber Polytechnic in Toronto was founded in 1967 as Humber College and took its present name in 2024. Both names appear in guidance and refer to the same institution. Its business and media provision has historically drawn large international enrolment, and that is precisely where the November 2024 work permit changes bite hardest. Business and management diplomas at college level are reported to be no longer eligible for a work permit. Humber's bachelor's degrees are not subject to that restriction. For an applicant drawn to Humber for business, the degree route and the diploma route now lead to materially different places. That is the decision to make first, before choosing between institutions.
