Nipissing University

Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario was founded in 1992, with roots in Nipissing University College of 1967. It is small, primarily undergraduate, and best known for teacher education. Education is the field that requires most caution here. Teacher registration is nationally regulated almost everywhere, and a Canadian education degree does not automatically permit teaching in Kazakhstan. That should be established with the Kazakh authorities before four years are committed. The same caution applies to any regulated profession studied abroad: the quality of a programme says nothing about whether the licence it leads to crosses a border. Beyond education, Nipissing teaches arts, science and business at small scale, with northern Ontario costs well below the south.
