Fudan University

Fudan University was founded in 1905 in Shanghai and is a member of the C9 League, strongest in economics, business, medicine, journalism and the social sciences. It enrols the second-highest number of international students of any Chinese university, which for a Kazakh applicant means established support structures and a large international community rather than being among a handful of foreign students. Fudan also runs one of the most intensive Mandarin programmes in Asia. For an applicant who intends a Chinese-taught degree but does not yet have the language, that is a route worth considering in its own right, and the Chinese Government Scholarship funds a preparatory language year where the scholarship is awarded. Its School of Management partners with MIT Sloan and holds international accreditation. Reported tuition for Chinese-taught business programmes is CNY 26,000 a year.
