Hefei University of Technology

Hefei University of Technology was founded in 1945 and is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Initiative, with around 29,480 undergraduates across engineering, management and the sciences. Its funding arrangement is worth reading closely. The university is co-funded by the Ministry of Education, the Anhui provincial government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. That last body indicates defence-related research, and in such fields access to particular laboratories or projects is sometimes restricted to Chinese nationals. Whether the intended programme is affected should be established directly, since a restriction discovered in the third year is not recoverable. The university also operates four campuses, three in Hefei and one at Xuancheng, a separate city 194 kilometres away. That distance makes the campus question consequential rather than incidental.
