Nanjing Normal University originated in 1902 and became independent in 1952. It is a Project 211 institution and among China's leading teacher education universities, offering around 80 degree programmes to international students. It publishes two things most Chinese universities leave an applicant to discover, and both affect planning directly. The first concerns the CSCA. Applicants for Chinese-taught programmes must select the Chinese-language version of the assessment, and the English version is not permitted. Sitting the wrong version produces a score that does not count, and there are only a few sittings a year. The second is the Silk Road Programme of the Chinese Government Scholarship, aimed at Belt and Road countries and therefore open to Kazakh applicants. Nanjing Normal ran a 1 March to 1 May 2026 window through its own system, months after the 14 February embassy deadline.
