Shenzhen MSU-BIT University

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University was founded in 2016 by the Shenzhen municipal government, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology, and admitted its first students in 2017. It teaches trilingually in Chinese, Russian and English and has around 4,500 students. For a Kazakh applicant this is the most directly relevant institution in Chinese higher education, and the reason is language. Russian is a working language across Kazakhstan and most school leavers have it to a functional or native standard. A university teaching in Russian removes the barrier that HSK 4 imposes at Chinese public universities and that IELTS imposes at the English-medium joint ventures. It is also reported to charge the least of any cooperative university, below Wenzhou-Kean and far below Duke Kunshan. The Moscow State University connection matters separately. An MSU-linked qualification carries recognition in Kazakhstan and across the post-Soviet space that neither a Chinese nor a Western degree automatically does.
