University of Nottingham Ningbo China

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China opened in 2004 as the first Sino-foreign cooperative university in China, a partnership between the University of Nottingham and Zhejiang Wanli University. The Chinese Ministry of Education recognises it as an independent legal entity; the University of Nottingham considers it a campus of Nottingham. It publishes something no Chinese public university does: a full annual cost of attendance. Tuition is CNY 120,000 a year, and tuition, accommodation, compulsory insurance and living in Ningbo come to approximately CNY 150,000 to CNY 190,000, excluding scholarships. Across four years that is CNY 600,000 to CNY 760,000. A Chinese public university costs roughly CNY 45,000 to CNY 70,000 a year all in. This is not the cheap route to an English-taught degree; it is a British-priced education delivered in China. One payment condition matters: instalment plans are not available to commencing students, so the full first-year fee must be paid before registration completes.
