Wuhan University of Technology

Wuhan University of Technology traces its origins to 1898 and took its present form in 2000 from three merged institutions. It is part of Project 211 and holds Double First-Class status in materials science, where it is nationally top-ranked, alongside strength in transportation, automotive and naval engineering. It is large, with around 36,000 undergraduates and 16,000 postgraduates, but its international cohort is small at roughly 327 students. A Kazakh applicant would be among comparatively few overseas students despite the scale of the institution. Reported international bachelor's tuition is CNY 18,000 to CNY 35,000 a year, and Wuhan's living costs are among the lowest of any major Chinese university city. The transport and automotive engineering provision connects to sectors that employ substantially in Kazakhstan, and the university teaches across three campuses.
