Anglia Ruskin University is a public university with campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford, teaching business, computing and artificial intelligence, health, law, engineering and the creative arts. It traces its origins to the Cambridge School of Art, founded in 1858. Its Full Payment Discount is GBP 1,000 for new international students who pay tuition in full by the Friday before teaching starts. It applies to undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses and needs no application, but it requires the whole year's fee in hand before term — money that cannot also be the maintenance funds held for the visa. The CAS date is the one to work backwards from. No Student visa can be issued without a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, so wherever a university sets its CAS deadline, that date governs the application in practice regardless of what the UCAS calendar says. Anglia Ruskin is in Cambridge but is not the University of Cambridge. The two are entirely separate institutions with very different entry requirements, and Cambridge requires an attestat holder to present five Advanced Placement tests at score 5 alongside a full set of attestat 5s.
