City St George's is a merged institution, and the name is the first thing to get right because older guidance will not match it. City, University of London and St George's, University of London merged in 2024. St George's — the medical school at Tooting founded in 1834 — no longer exists as a separate university, and medicine is now taught within this one. Anything an applicant finds describing two institutions was written before the merger. The university teaches business, law, health sciences, journalism and, through the St George's inheritance, medicine. Medicine carries the earlier October deadline and requires the UCAT. Every University of London institution awards its own degrees and admits independently. King's, UCL, LSE, Queen Mary, Royal Holloway, SOAS, Goldsmiths, Birkbeck, City St George's and Brunel are all members of the federation, and naming two of them on a UCAS form uses two of the five choices.
