The London School of Economics and Political Science is a public research university in central London, specialising in the social sciences — economics, government, law, international relations, management and sociology. It does not accept the Kazakh school-leaving certificate. LSE states that 'the school-leaving certificate from Kazakhstan isn't acceptable as an entry qualification for LSE', which is firmer than Cambridge's position that the attestat alone will not be competitive. A-levels, the IB Diploma or another qualification on LSE's accepted list is required. LSE is also unusually direct about the odds, and some applicants face an additional stage: 'applicants applying with certain qualifications may be asked to sit our Undergraduate Admissions Assessment (UGAA) before a final decision can be made.' Fees are published per course and LSE publishes no ceiling on increases, so the advertised figure is a first-year figure.
