The University of Brighton is a public university on the south coast, teaching art and design, architecture, health professions, education, business, engineering and sport across campuses in Brighton and Eastbourne. Its International Office scholarship runs across the degree rather than the first year alone: GBP 2,500 off tuition in year one and GBP 1,500 in each of the two following years, GBP 5,500 in total. Two other figures need weighing against that. A deposit of GBP 5,000 is required before Brighton will issue the CAS for a September 2026 start — among the highest in the sector, and payable long before the scholarship reduces anything. And Brighton's wording on increases is worth reading closely: international fees may rise by a maximum of 5% or the Consumer Prices Index, whichever is higher. That is not a cap. In a year when inflation runs above 5%, it is inflation that governs. Brighton is roughly an hour from London by rail, which gives access to the capital without London rents or the higher visa maintenance figure.
