University of Chester

The University of Chester is a public university in the north-west of England, teaching business, health, education, the sciences and the humanities across campuses in Chester, Warrington and Shrewsbury. Its international undergraduate fee for 2026/27 is GBP 14,950, set for each year of study. That is the lowest confirmed figure found so far and sits below the GBP 15,000 floor of the national classroom band. A foundation year costs GBP 11,250, well under the GBP 15,000 to GBP 25,000 typical elsewhere, which matters a great deal to an attestat holder who needs one. Chester also states that all undergraduate students are eligible for an International Scholarship Award applicable to each year of study — eligibility for everyone rather than a competition among applicants. One published warning applies far beyond Chester. It states that tuition fees will increase by GBP 925 a year from 2028/29, reflecting the Government's proposed international student fees levy. Very few universities say this out loud, and a student starting in 2027 would meet it in the final year of a three-year degree.
