Auburn University

Auburn is Alabama's public land-grant research university, founded in 1856, with over 31,600 students including roughly 2,000 international students, more than 150 undergraduate majors, and recognised strength in engineering, business, health sciences, aerospace engineering, architecture and veterinary medicine. Its international funding is merit-based, tuition-only, and gated by a condition worth understanding: awards go to students who pay full out-of-state tuition, so a student already receiving a tuition waiver from another source is excluded. The Competitive Merit Scholarship for Non-Residents is reported at USD 7,000 to USD 17,000 a year, renewable for four years, based on grade average and standardised test scores. Applications run through AUSOM, Auburn's Scholarship Opportunity Manager, with some awards closing as early as 1 December and general consideration by mid-February.
