California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is a public polytechnic university within the CSU system, known for its 'Learn by Doing' approach and among the most selective CSU campuses. It is also the most expensive CSU campus recorded for an international student, for a reason a Kazakh family must not miss. Beyond the standard CSU charges, Cal Poly levies two additional fees. It states that 'an additional USD 450 per semester fee and a separate charge for mandatory health insurance are assessed for international students', and separately that 'non-resident undergrad students first attending in the 2025-2026 academic year must also add USD 4,402 per term for the Cal Poly Opportunity Fee.' That Opportunity Fee alone adds roughly USD 8,800 a year on top of everything else.
