Private university
USD 50,386 (2026/27)
Elon is a private university in North Carolina between Greensboro and Raleigh, consistently rated a best-value institution and stating that its total annual cost runs more than USD 13,000 below most peer private universities. Its cost publication is unusually clear: a headline figure of USD 68,903 for tuition, fees, food and housing, and a separate itemised financial-aid cost of attendance of USD 73,403 that adds books, transport and personal allowances. The distinction between those two numbers is stated rather than left implicit, which few universities manage. Two features matter for an international applicant. Elon requires the CSS Profile for institutional need-based aid but only once, in the first year, rather than annually, which is lighter than Providence or Clark. And it runs a 3+Co-op programme alongside Fellows and Scholars tracks in business, communications, engineering and nursing, several of which carry their own funding.
