Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY)

The Fashion Institute of Technology is a public college of art, design, business and technology in Manhattan and part of the State University of New York. That distinction is the most important thing about it financially: FIT charges SUNY rates rather than private art-school tuition, which for a Kazakh applicant means a materially lower bill than at Parsons, Pratt, the School of Visual Arts, SAIC or ArtCenter. Its published out-of-state rate is USD 21,692 a year, roughly a third of what the private art schools charge. The combination of a specialist fashion and design curriculum, a Manhattan location and public-sector pricing is not available elsewhere among the institutions recorded.
