Private liberal arts college and conservatory
USD 61,407 (2026/27)
Lawrence is one of very few institutions in the United States housing a fully accredited conservatory of music alongside a liberal arts college, awarding both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees within a single undergraduate experience and offering a dual-degree route combining the two. Founded in 1847 in Appleton, Wisconsin, it has a 7:1 student-faculty ratio and around 1,400 students. Its financial paperwork for international students is deliberately simplified: applicants complete the Lawrence University Certification of Finance form, and Lawrence states plainly that no other forms, including the CSS Profile, will be accepted. Merit scholarships are substantial — USD 120,000 to USD 168,000 spread evenly across four years, awarded on the admission application itself — but Lawrence states clearly that full scholarships are not available to international students.
